About 325 people qualified for the program, which was announced in March as a cost-cutting move. Early retirees must leave by April 1.
It is too early to say how many of the retirees' positions will be left vacant, said Dan Bechter, a spokesman at the Richmond Fed. ``There is definitely some consolidation going on,'' Bechter said.
