6-YEAR-OLD GIRL DIES AFTER HENRY CRASH

State police have not determined whether a 6-year-old Richmond girl who was killed Monday in Henry County was wearing a seat belt.

Krista Dannielle Hall was riding in a car driven on Virginia 687 near Chestnut Knob by a woman identified by dispatcher Deborah Griffin as the the girl's mother. About 1:25 p.m., Kathy Lynn Hall lost control of the car when she swerved to miss an oncoming vehicle near the center of the road, according to a report by Trooper M.L. McPeek. The car ran into a ditch on the right side of the road, hit a concrete culvert and overturned.

Krista Hall was transported to Memorial Hospital of Martinsville-Henry County, the report said. She died there at 2:44 p.m.

Kathy Hall was not injured.
