MIME PERFORMANCES FRIDAY AT PULASKI COUNTY HIGH|

More than 60 students will present mime performances at 7 p.m. Friday in the Pulaski High School Little Theater auditorium.

Admission is $1.50. Proceeds will go toward the costs of the Pulaski County High School Players' two major productions planned for 1995: "The Serpent" in February and the musical version of "Little Shop of Horrors" in May.

The mime performance continues a five-year tradition for the Players. Students in the drama program have been required during that time to perform mime - using actions, gestures and facial expressions but not words - for the public as their class test.

The various presentations include both drama and comedy. Some are directed and have been completely developed by students. Some of the students are experienced in stage work, while others will be appearing on stage for the first time.

This year's presentation will include a comedy one-act titled "The Cycle of Life: Look Who's Not Talking." It was developed by the advanced theater arts class and will be presented again in December at the State International Thespian Conference in Richmond.

At the end of the Friday performance, students in the school's three theater classes will compete with mime improvisations. Their goal is to create a complete story on the spot.

In past years, this part of the program has been an audience favorite. The improvisations will be led by Rhonda Welsh, director and theater teacher.
