Travis William Wright, 21, reported that as he left his Meadowview apartment at about 3 a.m., he bumped into three men. One of the men told him to say "excuse me," said Vanessa Hill, a Police Department spokeswoman.
When Wright said he was sorry, the man replied Wright was asked to say "excuse me" and the trio began beating him. Hill said Wright was kicked in the head, back and stomach, causing welts and swelling of his left eye and cheek.
Wright was treated and released at Pulaski Community Hospital.
