The service will start at 2 p.m. at Vaughn Chapel on the Ferrum campus.
Davis is also survived by her son Bryan, a student at Ferrum, and daughter Lauren, a student at Franklin County High School.
Davis was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1987, underwent a mastectomy and was cancer-free for four years. In 1991, the cancer returned and had spread to her lymph system, lungs, ribs and spine. She underwent a bone marrow transplant and numerous treatments of high-dose chemotherapy.
In a September interview, Dave Davis called his wife the bravest and most positive person he had ever known. Sharon Davis said she was content in knowing her condition would somehow benefit others.
``I feel like things come about for a reason,`` Sharon Davis said in September. ``I think I'm helping somebody down the road.``
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Franklin County Humane Society, P.O. Box 755, Rocky Mount, Va., 24151. Arrangements are being made by Flora Funeral Service in Rocky Mount.
