Burnette-Alvis

Kimberly A. Alvis and Donald L. Burnette were married September 24, 1994 at the home of James and Geneva Patton, grandparents of the groom. The officiating clergyman was Minister Richard Brown. The reception was held at the home of James and Geneva Patton.

The maid of honor was Susan A. Dodd, friend of the bride. Flowergirl was Emily Soverns, cousin of the groom. The best man was Richard Patton, uncle of the groom. The ushers were Ronnie Snyder and Rick Hogan, friends of the groom. The guestbook was attended by Kristen Witt.

The bride's gown was satin, lace and pearls. She carried a bouquet of pink roses, white miniature carnations and Queen Ann's lace.

The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Cheryl K. Alvis and the late Donald D. Alvis of Falmouth. She is a graduate of Stafford Senior High School in Fredericksburg, Va., and graduated from Radford University with a Bachelors of Science degree. She is employed by ADIA.

The groom is the son of Mrs. Sue P. Burnette and the late William A. Burnette, Sr., of Roanoke. He graduated from Lord Botetourt High School and Virginia College. He is employed by Norfolk Southern Corporation in Roanoke.

The newlyweds will live in Roanoke, after their wedding trip to Mountain Lake.

Catoe-Robbins

Joy Elizabeth Robbins and Wayne Michael Catoe were united in marriage on Saturday, November 26, 1994, at New Life Temple Pentecostal Holiness Church in Roanoke, Virginia. The officiating Clergyman was Pastor Walter L. Wood. Photography was provided by John Robbins, brother of the bride.

The matron of honor was Miss Holly Sweeney, friend of the bride. The bridesmai ds were Mrs. Melissa Robbins, Miss Pam Catoe, Miss Jodie Foster and Mrs. Heather Hilliard. The junior bridesmaid was Miss Sophia Pizzamiglio. The flower girl was Miss Chelsea Raye Robbins. The best man was Mr. Kevin Hilliard, friend of the groom. The ushers were Jamie Robbins, Jeffrey Robbins, Todd Robbins and Brian Cunningham. The ring bearer was Master Cody Badachezski.

The guestbook was attended by Ms. Gina Bogue. The wedding music was provided by soloist, Shirley Smith and Jerry Causey; pianist, Karen Turner; and organist, Elaine Noble.

The bride wore a full ivory satin bridal gown with a chapel length train. The bodice included pearls and iridescent sequins with a sweetheart neckline and an open V-back. She carried a bouquet of orchids, ivory roses, and baby's breath.

The bride is the daughter of Steven and Donna Robbins of Roanoke. She is the granddaughter of Myrtle St.John Robbins and Clarence I. Robbins of Roanoke, Virginia, and Mrs. Margaret Skelton Kite of Shenandoah, Virginia, and the late Duward A. Kite.

The groom is the son of James and Brenda Catoe of Roanoke.

The newlyweds will live in Vinton, Virginia.

Dennis-Blasser

Frances Louise Blasser and SFC Richard Phillip Dennis were married November 19, 1994 in Rose Garden Wedding Chapel, Fayetteville, N.C. The officiating clergyman was Rev. Jim Barbour. The reception was held at Holiday Inn-Bordeaux, 1707 Owen Dr., Fayetteville, N.C.

The matron of honor was Mary B. Brown, the bride's sister. The best man was SFC Jim Randolph, a friend.

The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard D. Blasser of Roanoke, Va. She is a graduate of Cave Spring High School and Radford University with a B.S. in Business Administration-Marketing. The bride has been employed by Leggett Dept. Stores for the last 12 years.

The bridegroom, son of Frances D. Dennis and the late Rev. Louie P. Dennis, of Elkton, Va., is a graduate of North Central High School, Kershaw, S.C. and attended Central Texas College, Killeen, Texas. He is employed by the U.S. Army, Ft. Bragg, N.C.

The newlyweds will live in Fayetteville, N.C. after the wedding trip to Charleston, S.C.

Dooley-Duff

Amy Patrice Duff and Douglas Garland Dooley were married December 3, 1994 in Rainbow Forest Baptist Church. The officiating clergyman was Rev. Rick Via. The reception was held in the church fellowship hall.

The matron of honor was Marcie Harless, friend. The bridesmaids were Tammy Goldsmith, friend, Deidre Mattox, friend, Kristie Price, friend, and Jennifer Tedder, cousin.

The best man was Garland Dooley, father of the groom. The ushers were Brian Duff, brother of the bride, Barry Clark, friend, Dewitt House, friend, and Terry Thomas, friend.

The guestbook was attended by Kristi Dyer, cousin of the groom, and Tobi Loyd, friend of the bride. Soloists were Darald Boothe and Tim Duff. Special music was provided by harpist, Song Hee Uhm.

The bride's gown was traditional lace and sequined, with an extended cathedral train. She carried a bouquet of white bridal lilies and white roses tipped in red.

The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tim Duff of Blue Ridge. She is a graduate of Lord Botetourt High School and Virginia Western Community College. She is employed by First Union National Bank of Virginia.

The bridegroom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Garland Dooley of Troutville, attended Ferrum College and is employed by Roanoke Gas Company.

The newlyweds will live in Blue Ridge, Va.

Good-Ferguson

The marriage of Diane Ferguson and Wayne Good was held Saturday, November 26, 1994, in the Director's Suite of the Roanoke Marriott Hotel. The Reverend Harold E. Cook officiated. Tracey Good of Palm Bay, Fla., Mitchell Ferguson of Buchanan, Va., and Carrie Ferguson of Richmond, Va., were their parents' attendants. Also participating in the ceremony were Toni Austin, soloist; Susan Hubbard, videographer; and Larry Hubbard and Grady Robinson, ushers. Mr. Good is employed by General Medical Corporation of Richmond. Mrs. Good is employed by Hanover County Schools.

Hale-Henderson

Amy M. Henderson and Brian D. Hale were married December 3, 1994 at Tabernacle Baptist Church. The officiating clergyman was Rod Hale. The reception was held at the church fellowship hall. The maid of honor was Donna Howard, friend. The bridesmaids were Dawn Prillamen, cousin, Elizabeth MacMaster, friend, Ellen Re ttinger, friend, Amy Hale, sister of the groom, and Christina Pulliam, friend. The bride is a daughter of Woodrow and Linda Henderson of Salem. The bridegroom is a son of Douglas and Sue Hale of Salem. Both are graduates of Glenvar High School and are employed by Shenandoah Life Ins. Co. The newlyweds will live in Salem.

Johnson-Lloyd

Pat Lloyd and Sidney Johnson were married September 24, 1994 in a lawn wedding at home by Rev. Raymond Amos. The reception was held at their home. The matron of honor was Renee Atkinson, daughter of the bride. The best man was Jason Johnson, son of the groom. The bride was given in marriage by her sons, Tim Austin and David Lloyd. She is a graduate of Mary Baldwin College and is employed by First Union National Bank of Virginia. The bridegroom is a graduate of National Business College and is employed by Southern Refrigeration Corp. The newlyweds will live in Roanoke after the wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico.

Newcomb-Blevins

Faith Yvette Blevins and Kevin Todd Newcomb were united in marriage on September 3, 1994 at The Homeplace in Catawba. Rev. Tabor was the officiating clergyman. The reception was also held at The Homeplace.

Kathy Blevins, sister-in-law of the bride, was the guestbook attendant.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Blevins of Salem. She is a graduate of Salem High School and is employed by Brendles. The groom is the son of Doris Caldwell of Eagle Rock and Thomas Newcomb of Salem. He is a graduate of Glenvar High School and is employed by Roanoke County and Brendles.

Following a wedding trip to Virginia Beach, the newlyweds reside in Roanoke City.

Peggins-Livesay

Lori Beth Livesay and Randy Lynn Peggins were united in marriage on December 3, 1994, in McAllister Memorial Presbyterian Church, Covington, Virginia, with Dr. Earl Bland officiating. The reception followed at DSLCC Moomaw Center.

The maid of honor was Jill Livesay, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Kathy Brown and Adrienne Snead.

The best man was Rick Peggins, brother of the groom. Ushers were Dennis Reeves and Chuck Hurley. Logan Brown was the ringbearer.

The guestbook and program attendants were Elaine Isom and Tracy Averill. Soloists were Paula Dull and Harold and Cindy Carpenter. The wedding director was Nancy Calhoun.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Livesay. She is a graduate of RMH School of Nursing and Virginia Tech and is employed in the OR at RMH.

The groom is the son of Mrs. Mary Peggins and the late Mr. James Peggins. He attended VWCC and is employed at Jefferson Pilot Financial Services.

The couple will reside in Roanoke following a wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico.

Sturgeon-Dennison

Jane C. Dennison and Todd M. Sturgeon were united in marriage on December 3, 1994 in Salem Presbyterian Church. Dr. Collier S. Harvey, Jr. was the officiating clergyman.

The maid of honor was Wendy Baxendale. The bridesmaids were Carrie Anderson, Julie England Miller, Wendy Wimmer, and Patricia VanKerchove. Kelley Wimmer and Kirsten Wimmer served as flowergirls. The best man was Todd Forbes. The ushers were Ross Breitenbach, Mike Myers, Spencer Brown, and Eric Dennison.

The bride wore a long sleeved white satin gown accented with lace, seed pearls and sequins. It featured a cathedral length train with open lace appliques, seed pearls and sequins and was enhanced with a satin bow at the waist. She wore a pearl choker, a gift from the groom. Her bouquet was red roses with Christmas greenery.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William C. Dennison of Roanoke, Va. She is a graduate of Radford University. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Don Sturgeon of Mission Viejo, Calif. He is a graduate of Virginia Tech.

Following the wedding trip to Cancun, the newlyweds will reside in Fairfax, Va.

Vaughan-Singleton

Angela Janine Singleton and George Robert Vaughan, Jr. were united in marriage on December 3, 1994 in Raleigh Court United Methodist Church. Dr. Gregory Adkins was the officiating clergyman. The reception was held at Hidden Valley Country Club. A rehearsal dinner, hosted by the groom's parents, was held at the Shenandoah Club.

Mrs. Angela Payne Drumheller, friend of the bride, served as matron of honor. The bridesmaids were Mrs. Debra Cowling Barrineau, Miss Lisa Renee Hobbs, and Mrs. Carol Presswood Marchionda, friends of the bride; Miss Megan Leigh Singleton, niece of the bride; Miss Ellen Howard Vaughan, Miss Stephanie Carol Vaughan and Miss Susan Lane Vaughan, sisters of the groom.

Mr. George Robert Vaughan, Sr., served as his son's best man. The groomsmen were Mr. Andrew Mason Brizzdara, Mr. David William Hackbirth, Jr., Mr. David Scott Hagadorn, Mr. Scott Edward Hill, and Mr. John Paul Marchionda, friends of the groom; Mr. Frederick Dion Singleton and Mr. Richard Jefferson Singleton, Jr., brothers of the bride.

The bride's gown was Dupioni silk was a venise lace bodice. She carried a bouquet of French magnolias, roses and mixed greenery.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Jefferson Singleton, Sr., of Altavista, Va. She is a graduate of Altavista High School and Virginia Tech, and is employed by Trigon Blue Cross Blue Shield. The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. George Robert Vaughan, Sr. of Salem, Va. He is a graduate of Salem High School and Virginia Tech, and is employed by Carilion Health System.

Following a Caribbean cruise, the newlyweds will reside in Roanoke, Va.

Walker-Arthur

Rebecca Ann Arthur and Darren Clay Walker were married November 25, 1994, at Gateway Baptist Church, Blacksburg, Va. with Pastors Dewey Weaver, Jr. and Jerry Walker officiating.

Maid of honor was Stacy Walker. Bridesmaids were Crys tal Arthur, Jackie Burke and Tammy Roe. Bart Smith was best man. Groomsmen were David Arthur, Darrin Johnson, A.J. Walker, Clint Walker and Mark Walker.

The bride is the daughter of Reta Arthur of Winston-Salem, NC, and Ralph Arthur of Lynchburg, Va. She is the granddaughter of Ada Arthur of Troutville and Norine Crowder of Fincastle, Va. She is a graduate of Craig County High School in New Castle, Va. and Piedmont Bible College, Winston-Salem. She is employed by Union Grove Christian School, Lexington, NC.

The groom's parents are Ann and Jerry Walker of Winston-Salem. He is a graduate of West Florida Christian Academy, Milton, Fla. and is a student at Piedmont Bible College. He is employed by Flow Automotive Companies, Winston-Salem.

The couple will reside in Lexington, N.C.
