Washington & Jefferson (11-1) qualifies for the national championship game, the Almos Alonzo Stagg Bowl, next week in Salem, Va. The Presidents will face Albion, Mich., for the national title. It will be Washington & Jefferson's second trip to the final in the past three years.
Williams, Washington & Jefferson's leading rusher this season with 1,210 yards, was held to just 15 yards on 12 carries before he broke the game-winner on a third-and-10 play.
Ramont Small led all rushers for the Presidents with 77 yards but Washington & Jefferson quarterback Jason Baer had an even bigger day, completing 18 passes for 221 yards and two touchdowns. Mike Speca had 10 receptions for 126 yards, including a touchdown.

St. John's 16
COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. - Quarterback Kyle Klein's 3-yard touchdown run with 2:42 left gave Albion College a victory over St. John's University.
Klein set up his touchdown with a 59-yard pass to Chris Barnett, who caught eight passes for 166 yards and scored Albion's first touchdown on a 24-yard pass at 8:52 of the second quarter.
Jeff Robinson led Albion (12-0) in rushing with 59 yards on 19 carries.
Six turnovers frustrated the usually potent St. John's offense, with Albion intercepting Kurt Ramler four times - three by David Lafere.
Klein completed 15 passes for 197 yards for Albion.
Stagg Bowl tickets
Fewer than 3,000 tickets remain for next Saturday's Stagg Bowl. Through Saturday, 4,168 tickets had been sold for the game at Salem Stadium, which has a capacity of 7,136 for the Division III championship game. Tickets remain on sale at the Salem Civic Center box office, which reopens Monday at 9:30 a.m. Tickets are priced at $8 for adults ($10 on game day) and $5 for students of high school age and below. Tickets may be ordered by calling 375-3004 and 1-800-288-2122.
