CAB-PERMIT HEARING ON PULASKI COUNCIL AGENDA|

An annual public hearing to help decide how many cabs will be approved to serve Pulaski will be held today at the 4 p.m. Town Council meeting.

The town has received applications for 12 cabs from James Edward Aust of Jim Dandy Taxi Service and 12 from Herman Gene Largen, representing Blue and White Cabs Inc. Council must decide whether 24 certificates are enough for 1995 and whether they will be distributed to the applicants as requested.

Council approved 30 certificates for cabs this year, but six were never issued. The remaining 24 were divided equally between Blue and White and Jim Dandy.

Council will also hear committee reports, including presentation of the annual audit from the Finance Committee and a list of interests from the Human Resources Committee to be represented on the town's planned Board of Economic Development. The Human Resources Committee has scheduled its next meeting for Dec. 29 to consider the size of the board, length of terms and whether initial terms should be staggered, and whom to appoint.
