GALA PLANT TO EXPAND

Gala Industries, a Botetourt County manufacturer of chemical and plastic processing equipment, said Tuesday it is adding 18,500 square feet to its manufacturing plant, the second expansion in a year.

Company President David Bryan said the expansion could lead to about 10 new jobs. Gala now employs about 195. The plant is on U.S. 220 about four miles south of Eagle Rock.

Bryan said the company has annual sales of about $18 million and exports about 40 percent of its products.

According to building permits, the latest addition is valued at $275,000.
