The Mount Zion A.M.E. Women Sunday School Class in Roanoke gave for the first time this year. Although the class is small - usually five members - the women wanted to do their part to help the community; and since the church has worked with Roanoke Area Ministries in the past, the class decided to give a contribution to the Good Neighbors Fund.
The Homelife Department of the Roanoke County Women's Club has been making donations to the fund for about eight years now, according to one member, Mrs. Harry E. Caldwell. The group has taken on several projects to help others, and members believe supporting the work of Roanoke Area Ministries is one way to do that.
