IN SCHOOL

VIRGINIA WESTERN COMMUNITY COLLEGE has named the recipients of Donald Willson Memorial Scholarships. Cathy Webber of Salem received $100 award for her work at stage manager, Heather Stovall of Salem received a $100 award for her work as a light board operator, and Rafe Telsch of Floyd received a $100 award for his work as crew chief.

HILLS DEPARTMENT STORE customers are giving their register receipts to area schools participating in the company's Supply-a-School program. Supply-a-School is a receipt redemption program allowing schools to collect Hills receipts and turn them in for such items as computers, supplies, and library books. Since the program's inception in 1990, over $1.2 million in classroom supplies and equipment have been award to hundreds of schools.

CHAD JOHNSON, of Roanoke will be among 63 students from Virginia State University named in the 1995 edition of Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.

MARGARET M. GRAYSON, has been appointed to the Virginia Western Community College Local Advisory Board as a representative of Roanoke. Grayson teaches Latin at North Cross School.
