NAMES ON CAMPUS

The University of Virginia honored Blacksburg residents ANNE ARMSTRONG, JENNIFER BOYLE, LIZ DEDMAN, VALERIE ROGGENBUCK, MARSHALL SHULER and ASHOK KUPPUSWAMY at its Fall Convocation. The students all had grade-point averages of 3.4 or better in their first four semesters at the university.

Concord College students BRAD WHITEHEAD of Pembroke and CRYSTAL TAWNEY of Newport will appear in the 1995 edition of Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. A Concord nominating committee and the directory's editing committee selected the students for their academic, leadership and community service achievements.

HUI LI of Blacksburg recently received a master's degree in engineering from the University of Cincinnati.

Eight National Business College students have been named in the 1995 Who's Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges: ALAN BOWLES, SUZANNE FUNKHOUSER, SONNA GATES, JUDY THORNTON, JEAN TRUMP and CINDY VANHOOZIER of Christiansburg; LISA WICKLINE of Elliston; and ALVIN GIVENS of Newbern.

DOROTHY PORTER of Blacksburg was one of 500 student musicians to participate in St. Olaf College's Christmas Festival Concert in Northfield, Minn. The world-renowned annual concert is broadcast each year to an estimated 40 million people worldwide.
