The Rev. James A. Dewey, Ducker's mentor during his seminary years in Louisville, Ky., eulogized his colleague and friend and offered consolation to the family. Associate Presbyter George Goodman of the Presbytery of the Peaks and Lee Hinson-Hasty, a former director of university ministry, assisted.

A second memorial service is set for today at 2 p.m. at Myers Park Presbyterian Church, Charlotte, N.C., Ducker's home town. Earlier this year, his Radford congregation of approximately 250 active members helped Ducker and his wife, Lane, celebrate their 10th year at the church.

The Rev. STEVE WESTON is leaving Christ Episcopal Church, Pulaski, to serve as rector of St. Matthews Church in the Diocese of West Texas. Weston has been at the church for three years. A farewell reception is Dec. 18, noon, at the parish hall. The public is welcome.
