GLENN WORKS OT TO GIVE ANNANDALE TITLE

Jasim Glenn scored six touchdowns, the last in overtime, as Annandale defeated George Washington-Danville 47-41 on Saturday to win its second consecutive Group AAA Division 6 title.

Glenn had 257 yards on 26 carries for the Atoms (14-0) and set a Virginia High School League Group AAA record for touchdowns in a championship game. The old record of four was set by Russell Davis of Woodbridge in 1974.

Glenn scored on a 2-yard run in overtime, after GW-Danville (11-3) failed to score on its possession.

GW had tied the score at 41 on Travis Brooks' 2-yard plunge with 21 seconds left in regulation. The extra-point kick that could have won the game was partially blocked after a bad snap.
