BLUME, Ruth Elisse, 98, of Blacksburg, passed away Friday, December 9, 1994. Funeral 10 a.m. Monday, Blacksburg Baptist Church. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.

BROCKMEYER, Elva Alice Ryan, 72, of 199 Northwood Drive, Pulaski, died early Saturday morning, December 10, 1994, in the North Carolina Baptist Hospital, Winston-Salem, N.C. She was born in Switchback, W. Va. on May 4, 1922, and was the daughter of the late Thomas Ryan and Luther Victoria Crawford Ryan. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Porter. She attended Radford College, Radford, Va., was a member of the Adult Choir and she taught Sunday School at the church for many years. She was also a youth advisor for many years at the church. Surviving are husband of 52 years, Dr. Milton Brockmeyer, Pulaski, Va.; two daughters, Dianne Brockmeyer, Richmond, Carolyn B. Willaman, Fort Thomas, K.Y.; one son, Wally Brockmeyer, Shiloh; three sisters, Ercelle Rhudy, Pulaski, Zoe Stone, Salem, Lotus Dawn Fudge, Coppers; three grandchildren, Ryan Brockmeyer, Adam Brockmeyer, Elizabeth Willaman. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. from the Trinity Luthern Church, Pulaski, with the Rev. John McCandlish and the Rev. Steven Ridenhour officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Visiting will be Sunday evening at Stevens Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family wishes that memorials be made to the Trinity Luthern Church, Abiding Memorial Fund, P.O. COCHRAN, Oleta Fatima, 80, of Hillsville, passed away December 9, 1994, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born May 6, 1914 to George Fulton and Beatrice Staples Cochran. She was preceded in death by sisters Mary Ruth Cochran and Sadie Wyrick; brothers, Lawrence, Leff, Troy, Paul and Brady Cochran. She is survived by two brothers, Bob Cochran and Curtis Cochran, both of Hillsville; nieces, Eva Hill, Helen Notchie, Estelle Burnette and Sue Davis; nephews, Benton Cochran, Pete Wyrick, Garrett Cochran, Mickey Cochran, Lee Cochran, Glenn Cochran, Jerry Cochran and Steven Cochran; numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grandnephews. She will be sadly missed by all survivors. She was retired from Sprague Electric Company and was an active, lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church in Hillsville where she was a member of the Upper Room Sunday School Class, the United Methodist Women and volunteered at the Golden Harvest Thrift Shop. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, December 12, 1994, at the Hillsville First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Nathan Malone officiating. Interment will follow in the Cochran Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Hillsville First United Methodist Church. ELLER, Jean Bundy, of Marion, died Friday, December 9, 1994, in Smyth County Community Hospital. Mrs. Eller was an active member of the Royal Oak Presbyterian Church and was formerly active in the women of the church. She is survived by her husband, Doctor Joseph J. Eller of Marion; one son and daughter-in-law, J. Johnson Jr. and Patricia Williams Eller of Altavista; one sister, Mary Dickerson of Oak Hill, W.Va.; two brothers, Henry Carter Bundy of St. Petersburg, Fla., Dr. Walter E. Bundy Jr. of Richmond; two grandchildren, Kara and Kate Eller. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 12, 1994 at 11 a.m. at the Royal Oak Presbyterian Church with Dr. Sheldon Sorge and the Rev. Neville Mozingo officiating. FOX, Estelle Ruth, 85, of Roanoke, died Wednesday, December 7, 1994. She was born in Pennsylvania and spent most of her life in the New York metropolitan area. She resided in Roanoke for the last ten years at Honeywood Apts., Elm Park Estates, and Brandon Oaks Nursing Home. She was the widow of the late Lawrence Fox. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Rabbi Jerome S. and Carole R. Fox; grandchildren, Elana Fox (age 18) and Ari Fox (age 14). She was a member of Beth Israel Synagogue, and a life member of Hadassah and O. R. T. Burial was at Beth El Cemetery, Rochelle Park, N.J. on Friday, December 9, 1994. The Shivah Minyanim will be held at the residence of Rabbi Jerome Fox Sun., Dec. 11 from 8 p.m., Mon., Dec. 12, 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., Tues., Dec. 13, 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., Wed., Dec. 14, 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., Thurs ., Dec. 15, 8 a.m. A memorial service will be held at Beth Israel Synagogue, Sunday, December 18, 1994, at 3 p.m. with Rabbi Frank W. FURRY, Bernard Poole Jr., (Skip), 63, of Roanoke, formerly of Staunton, died Saturday, December 10, 1994 in a Roanoke hospital. Surviving are his wife, Janet S. Furry; daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Donald Obenshain, Fincastle; son and daughter-in-law, J. Mark and Carol Furry, Roanoke; two grandsons, Jacob Mark Furry and Nathan Andrew Furry; also a sister and brother-in-law, Nancy F. and Norris Lee, Birmingham, Mich.; mother-in-law, Pauline G. Smiley, Staunton; several aunts and uncles and several nieces and nephews. A memorials service will be conducted from Oakey's Roanoke Chapel 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 13, 1994, with the Rev. HERDMAN, Raymond F., 79, of Roanoke, passed away Friday, December 9, 1994. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and retired from Stewart Sandwich Company. Surviving are his wife, Lois V. Herdman; daughter and son-in-law, Michele and Keith Kildow, Austin, Texas; sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Julie Herdman, Erik and Melissa Herdman, all of Roanoke; three grandchildren, Ruth and Esther Herdman, Michael Herdman. LILLY, Lois R., 90, of Roanoke, died Friday, December 9, 1994 in a local nursing home. She was the widow of James R. Lilly and a member of Raleigh Court Presbyterian Church. Surviving are her children, James R. Lilly Jr., Milton, W.Va., Jean W. Lilly, Roanoke, William D. Lilly, M.D., Andover, Mass.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at the graveside in Evergreen Burial Park at 1 p.m. Monday, December 12, 1994 with Dr. Gregory L. Adkins officiating. ORRICK, Mildred Boykin, 88, of Elliston, died Friday, December 9, 1994, at her home. Mrs. Orrick was born in Hiawatha, W. Va., the daughter of the Rev. Richard Elliott Boykin and Ange' Barger Boykin. She was the wife of the late Jesse' Lewis Orrick and was a fashion designer in New York and Philadelphia for many years. She is survived by her children, Martha Orrick Malcolm of Colorado Springs, Co., Nicholas Orrick of Andover, Mass., and Sarah Orrick Thompson of Washington, D.C.; and by her grandchildren, David Orrick, Jenifer' Orrick and Eliot' Thompson. A memorial service will be held at a later date at St. Luke's Church in Smithfield. SEYMOUR, Sophronia V., 94, of Roanoke, died Saturday, December 10, 1994, in a local nursing home. She was a retired church organist and piano teacher. Surviving are a son, Dan Seymour, Hardy; a daughter Constance Barton, Everett, Pa.; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

SIZER, Dolores Wright, 73, of Roanoke, died at her residence Friday, December 9, 1994. Mrs. Sizer was born July 19, 1921, in Roanoke. She was an active member of Grandin Court Baptist Church and retired from the Baptist Book Store. Mrs. Sizer was preceded in death by her son, Michael. Surviving are her husband, William A. (``Bill'') Sizer, Sr.; a son and daughter-in-law, William A. (``Bill'') and Connie Sizer, East Lansing, Mich.; daughter, Ann Size r Moir, Newport News; three granddaughters, Kerstin Sizer Kacmarek and husband, Jeffery, Manchester, Mich., Alison Penn Moir and Jennifer Ryan Moir, both of Newport News; grandson, Garrett W. Sizer, Charleston, S.C.; three sisters-in-law, Nell K. Sizer, Ellen S. Pillow, both of Roanoke, Nina O. Sizer, Virginia Beach; two brothers-in-law and wives, Houston B. and Kathleen Sizer, Roanoke, Calvin W. and Charlotte Sizer, Port St. Lucie, Fla.; an aunt, Minnie A. Irwin, Roanoke; several cousins and a niece, Patti Pillow Love, Roanoke. SPERKA, James Ernest, died December 5, 1994, in Altanta, Ga., while a graduate student at Emory University. He was born in Lexington on January 28, 1964. He attended Rockbridge County Schools and was a graduate of Washington & Lee University. He is survived by his grandmother, Frances R. Perkins; his parents, Ernest and Gail Sperka, all of Natural Bridge; a brother and sister-in-law, John and Judy Sperka, Tiffin, Ohio; a niece, Emma, all of Stephens City; and a sister, Gretchen Sperka, Tiffin, Ohio. A memorial service will be held December 17, 1994, at Beth Horon United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial donations be made to Shepherd Spinal Center, 2020 Peachtree Rd., NW, Atlanta, GA 30309, Patient Care Endowment Fund.

TAYLOR, Clarence E., 47, of Roanoke, passed away Thursday, December 8, 1994. He was a past employee of the Roanoke Redevelopment and Housing Authority. He was preceded in death by his father, Lee A. Taylor. Survivors include two sons, Clarence E. Taylor, Jr. and Gerald Harris; one daughter, Teresa Harris; his mother and stepfather, Alice and Joseph Ward; three sisters, Alice Bond, Edith Rudd, and Gloria Taylor; two brothers, Lee Bannister and Lonnie Taylor, all of Roanoke; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be Monday 2 p.m. at the Hamlar-Curtis Chapel. Rev. U.N. Broady will officiate with interment in Williams Memorial Park.

WALDRON, Charles Robert, 77, of Roanoke, formerly of Vinton, died Saturday, December 10, 1994, in a local hospital. He was a member of Plumbers & Steamfitters Local Union No. 491, St. Timothy Evangelical Lutheran Church and Vinton Lodge No. 204 A. F. & A. M. He was preceded in death by his wife, Estelle Comer Waldron. Surviving are three children, Kitty Ross, Silver Springs, Md., Bob Waldron, El Paso, Texas, Ann Via, Lynchburg; six grandchildren. Funeral service will be conducted from Oakey's Vinton Chapel, 1 p.m. Monday, December 12, 1994, with the Rev. Dr. Harold J. Uhl officiating. Burial will be in Mt. View Cemetery.
