Karen D. Hunt and Stuart E. McLaurin were married December 10, 1994 in Oakland Baptist Church. The officiating clergyman was the Rev. H. Kelly Dampeer Sr. The reception was held in the fellowship hall of the church.
The matron of honor was Dreama Skibinski, sister of the bride. The bridesmaids were Tanya McLaurin, Julie McLaurin, Tiffany McLaurin, all sisters of the groom, and Kim Lavinder, friend of the bride. The flowergirl was Emily Skibinski, niece of the bride.
The best man was Elmo McLaurin, father of the groom. The groomsmen were Jon Hamilton, John Gibson, Mike McGuire, all friends of the groom, and David Pryor, cousin of the groom. The ringbearer was Ryan Skibinski, nephew of the bride. The candlelighters were Joe Skibinski, brother-in-law of the bride, and Riley Meador, friend of the groom. The guestbook was attended by Marty Farris, friend of the bride.
The bridesmaids dresses were made from traditional McLaurin plaid by Sandra McLaurin, mother of the groom. The groomsmens tie and cumberbun were made from the McLaurin plaid also by Mattie Campbell, friend of the bride and groom. The bride carried a bouquet of white roses. Her bouquet was made by Cheryl Pigford, aunt of the groom.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Hunt of Roanoke. She is a graduate of William Fleming High School and is employed by N&W Federal Credit Union.
The bridegroom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmo McLaurin of Roanoke, is a graduate of Northside High School and Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va. He is employed by General Electric.

The maid of honor was Miss Janet Courtney Schwartz of Lynchburg. The bridemaids were Miss Jennifer L. Marshall of Westpoint; Miss Jolyn A. Crim of Tyler, Texas; Miss Erica L. Seligman of Roanoke; and Miss Mary D. Bradley of Lynchburg. The best man was the groom's father, Mr. Douglas Wayne Murray, Sr. of Roanoke. Groomsmen were Mr. Brian N. Murray, Mr. Stephen A. Murray, Mr. Michael L. Rakes, and Mr. Timothy Boitnott, all of Roanoke. The guestbook was attended by Miss Patricia L. Hobson of Richmond.
The bride wore a traditional gown of satin and alencon lace with a sweetheart neckline and long, fitted sleeves. The full skirt was detailed with beaded appliques, lace, pearls and a butterfly bustle that extended to a cathedral-length train. Her headpiece of matching illusion fell from a princess crown and was finger-tip length. She carried a cascading bouquet of red roses, gardenias and Christmas greenery.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Withers Anderson Burress of Roanoke, and is a graduate of Patrick Henry High School and Mary Baldwin College. The bride is employed by Virginia First Savings Bank. The bridegroom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Wayne Murray, Sr. of Roanoke, is a graduate of Northside High School and James Madison University. The bridegoom is employed by the Roanoke Regional Chamber of Commerce. The couple will reside in Roanoke after the wedding trip to the Cayman Islands.

Kathleen Marie Furey of Reston, Virginia, and Charles Richard Myers, Jr. of Silver Spring, Maryland, were married on October 1st at Saint Lukes Catholic Church in Ocean City, Maryland. Father Peter Leonard of Allentown, Pennsylvania, officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Michael J. Furey of Blacksburg, Virginia. She is a graduate of Blacksburg High School, attended the New England School of Art and Design, and graduated in Graphic Design from Virginia Tech. She is employed by The National Wildlife Federation as a Graphic Designer.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Myers of Silver Spring, Maryland. He is a graduate of DeMatha High School and studied art at both Montgomery College and the University of Maryland. He is employed by Danforth & Wallace Advertising as an Art Director.
Escorted and presented by her parents, the bride wore a white ball gown of tulle netting with silk roses on off-the-shoulder pouf sleeves. A fitted bodice was covered with Alencon lace, seed pearls, and crystal sequins. The bride wore a wreath-pointed headpiece trimmed with satin leaves, pearls, and bugle beads. She carried a cascade of pink roses, purple lisianthus, and mini-gladiolus.
Pamela Furey of Boston, Massachusetts and sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Renee Edmonston of Orlando, Florida, sister of the groom, and Pam McCoy of Sterling, Virginia, and Tracy Slater of Boston, Massachusetts, friends of the bride. All the attendants wore floral dresses and carried mixed wildflowers. Alanna Okun, niece of the bride, and Hope Myers, niece of the groom, served as flower girls.
Best man was Joseph Myers of Bowie, Maryland, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Brock Myers of Germantown, Maryland, brother of the groom; Paul Henderson of Silver Spring, Maryland, friend of the groom; and Michael Furey of Los Angeles, brother of the bride. Michael also provided music during the ceremony and accompanied vocalist Pam McCoy.
A luncheon at The Yacht Club in Ocean Pines, Maryland, was hosted by the bride's parents.
After a honeymoon trip to Tortola in the British Virgin Islands, the couple returned to Reston, Virginia, were they will make their home.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack R. Cunningham III of Roanoke. She gradu ated from Northside High School and Virginia Western Community College. She is employed by Steel and Pipe Supply, Manhattan, Kan. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Noble of Roanoke. He attended Western Kentucky University. He is employed by U.S. Army, 2/3 ADA, Fort Riley, Kan. The newlyweds will live in Manhattan, Kan., after a wedding trip to Kentucky.

James Schmidt, the groom's brother, was best man. Ushers were Gregory Phalin and John Slauson, friends of the groom. Eric Lukas, nephew of the bride, was ringbearer. The bride, escorted by her father, wore a silk satin gown accented with pearls and austrian crystals embroidered on lace, designed by Scaasi. Her bouquet was a cascade of roses, gardenias and lilies. A reception was held at the Marlborough Country Club. Mr. and Mrs. C. Frederick Rapp of Roanoke are the bride's parents. She received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Virginia Tech and an additional masters from Central Michigan University. She is a Captain in the U.S. Air Force. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald R. Schmidt of Sheboygan, Wis. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and received a masters from Georgetown University. He is employed as an analyst for Naval Intelligence, Washington, D.C. They honeymooned in St. Marten and now reside in Upper Marlboro, Md.
