DUO DOES JOB FOR DEMONS IN TITLE GAME

John Hairston and Darrell Calloway scored 18 points each to pace a balanced attack as Christiansburg beat Montgomery County neighbor Auburn 74-69 in the final of the Pepsi/Wendy's Tip-Off Classic.

Christiansburg (3-0) raced to a 42-26 halftime lead and never was threatened, despite being outscored 24-15 in the final quarter.

Donald Thompson and Carlton Ashbrook each had 10 for the Blue Demons. Jon Reed scored 26 and Terry Millirons and Kenny Wojciechowski scored 16 for Auburn (1-1).

CHRISTIANSBURG - In the consolation game of the Pepsi-Wendy's Tip-Off Classic, Patrick Bailey hit three 3-pointers and scored 19 points as the Green Wave rolled over the Bobcats.

Brian Pruett scored 13, Scott Vaught had 11 and Robbie Stafford added 10 for Narrows (1-1).

Matt Linkous led Radford (0-2) with 14 points, including three 3-pointers. Chuck Hubbard scored 11 and John Kinser had 10 for the Bobcats.

BECKLEY, W.Va. - Scott Perfater and Aaron Meadows scored 19 points each as the Crusaders cruised to the championship of the Greater Beckley Invitational.

Five Gateway players scored in double figures. Jay Perfater, Monte Pence and Ryan Gordon each scored 12.

Jay Perfater and Gordon were named to the all-tournament squad.
