The Subway sandwich shop, which opened less than five months ago, was robbed Saturday night of a small amount of money, Vinton Police Sgt. J.R. Houff said.
The robber, who is thought to be a woman, was wearing a scarf and hood that covered most of her face.
Houff said the woman entered the restaurant just after 6:30 p.m. and handed the manager a note that said she had a gun and wanted money.
The manager gave her what was in the cash register. Houff said the manager did not see a gun.
A Subway employee said that while there were a few customers in the store at the time, none were aware of the robbery until it was over.
