Public meeting on road proposal

RADFORD - A public meeting to explain the proposed widening of Virginia 177 (Tyler Road) from the Radford city limits to Interstate 81 will be held tonight from 6 until 8 at Bethel Elementary School.

The meeting is sponsored by the Virginia Department of Transportation.

Tentative plans call for widening the road to four lanes starting in the spring.

All work will take place on existing rights-of-way.
