CELEBRATIONS - WEDDINGS II

Kendall-Thompson

Sharon Huntley Thompson and David Charles Kendall were married December 17, 1994, at Great Bridge Baptist Church in Chesapeake, Virginia, by the Reverend Charles Moseley.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William A. Thompson Jr. of Chesapeake, Virginia, and granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard E. Horne Sr. of Chilhowie, Virginia, and Mrs. Alma Thompson and the late William Albert Thompson of Williamsburg, Virginia. Ms. Thompson is a graduate of Great Bridge High School and Virginia Tech, and is Project Manager with the Virginia Beach Studio of the Moseley McClintock Group.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert C. Kendall of Hampton, Virginia, and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Russell S. Kendall Sr. of Baltimore, Maryland, and the late Mrs. Eirmgard Hahn of Frankfurt Germany. Mr. Kendall graduated from Kecoughtan High School and attended Old Dominion University. He is self-employed as a trim subcontractor.

Jolene Park, friend of the bride, of Charlottesville, served as the matron of honor. Robert Kendall, father of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Mark Riva, of Newport News, groom's brother-in-law, and William A. Thompson III, of Baton Rouge, La., brother of the bride. Salley Roberts served as mistress of ceremony, and Kim Sensabaugh attended the guestbook. Music was provided by pianist Michelle Curling, and soloist Essex Watson.

Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a floor-length fitted gown of white bridal satin with lace overlay accentuated by pearls and sequins. The gown featured a sweetheart neckline, short scalloped sleeves, and a cathedral length decorative satin train.

She carried a cascading bouquet of stargazer lilies, red and white roses.

A reception was held at the Las Gaviotos, Grand Affairs. After a honeymoon trip to Big Sky, Montana, the couple will reside in Virginia Beach.

\ King-Worley

Elizabeth Anne Worley and Stephan Wayne King were married December 3, 1994, in Green Ridge Baptist Church, with Dr. J. Michael Palmer officiating. The reception was held in the church fellowship hall.

The maid of honor was Stephanie King, sister of the groom. The matron of honor was Rebecca Duncan, friend of the bride. The bridesmaids were Westley Tomlinson, Gail Mitchell, and Debra Henderlite, all friends of the bride. Flowergirl was Jackie Hood, friend of the bride and groom.

The best man was Wayne King, father of the groom. The ushers were Dennis Fink, friend of the groom, Sean Boyer, cousin of the groom, Mark Gordon and Jayson Henderlite, both friends of the groom. Ringbearer was Tyler Ellis. The candlelighters were John and Patrick Worley, brothers of the bride. The guestbook was attended by Susan Gregg and Julie Cahill.

The bride's gown was satin back silky shantung with lace over the bodice, with beads and sequins made by the bride's mother.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald C. Worley of Roanoke. She is a graduate of William Fleming High School and attended Averett College. She is employed by First Union Bank.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Wayne King of Salem. He is a graduate of Northside High School and is employed by King's Restorations.

The newlyweds will live in Roanoke City, after their wedding trip to Tennessee.

Stephen and Elizabeth would like to thank all their family and friends who helped to make the evening very memorable. A special thank you to Carol Edwards for all her time and effort to direct the ceremony and arrange all of the bouquets and flowers.

\ Lionberger-Tolbert

Michelle Leigh Tolbert and Charles Douglas Lionberger were married December 17, 1994 at Belmont Christian Church with the Rev. Michael Barnes officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Tolbert, and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Angell and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Tolbert. She is a graduate of Lord Botetourt and James Madison University.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Lionberger Jr., and grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Gregory III and Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Lionberger Sr. He is a graduate of Salem and James Madison University.

Tanya Graybeal, friend of the bride, served as matron of honor. The bridesmaids were Jennifer Cooper, Laura Hurst, Loree Rowland, friends of the bride, Mary Butler, cousin of the bride, and Jr. bridesmaid, Belinda Feazell, cousin of the bride.

Alexis Wilson, niece to the bride, served as flowergirl. Cheve Tolbert, nephew to the bride, was ringbearer.

Bob Thomas, cousin of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Samuel Lionberger III, David Lionberger and Greg Lionberger, brothers of the groom, Bill Thomas, cousin of the groom, and Jr. groomsman, Stewart Gregory, cousin of the groom.

The guestbook was attended by Vicki Lionberger, sister-in-law of the groom, and Alicia Gregory, cousin of the groom.

The bride's parents hosted a reception following the ceremony at Christ Lutheran Church. Following a wedding trip to the Caribbean, the couple will reside in Roanoke.

\ Lord-Reyna

Patricia Anne Reyna and Wayne D. Lord will be married today, December 18, 1994, in Wren Chapel, College of William & Mary, Williamsburg, Va. The reception will be held at Alumni House. The matron of honor will be Sheila R. Henderson, sister of the bride. The best man will be Fred Lord, brother of the groom.

The bride is a daughter of Dr. Sheila S. Reyna of Blacksburg, Va. and Mr. Agustin A. Reyna of Caracas, Venesuela. She is a graduate of Virginia Tech and a MBA (graduate) student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The bridegroom, son of Mr. & Mrs. Anthony Lord of Hyde Park, N.Y., is a graduate of the College of William & Mary. He is employed by ECPI as Department Manager. The newlyweds will live in Raleigh, N.C., after the wedding trip to Wilmington, N.C.

\ Smiroldo-Reynolds

Jennifer Anne Reynolds and Stephen Edwin Smiroldo were married November 19, 1994, in a candlelight ceremony at Calvary Memorial Church, with the Rev. Larry Eenigenburg officiating. The reception followed in the church fellowship hall.

The maid of honor was Lisa Westmoreland; and the matron of honor was Karen Russ; both friends of the bride and groom. The bridesmaids were Kelly Boyer, Laura Hisey, and Mellissa Keller; and the junior bridesmaid was Kristin Murray; all friends of the bride and groom. Flowergirl was Kimberly Faber, friend of the bride and groom. The best man was Craig Hatch, friend of the bride and groom. Groomsmen were Kenneth Bowen, Jr., cousin of the bride; John Durrett, Glen Johnson, Wade Johnson, all friends of the bride and groom, and Paul Reynolds, II, brother of the bride. Junior groomsman was Michael Bowen, cousin of the bride. Ringbearer was Joel Faber, friend of the bride and groom. The candlelighters were Glen Johnson and Wade Johnson. The guestbook was attended by Abby Mayfield.

The bride wore an old fashioned white pearled satin floor length gown with a miniature rose and pearl floor length veil. She carried a cascade of baby's breath, burgundy rose buds and magnolias.

The bride is the daughter of Phillip W. and Patricia C. Reynolds of Daleville. She is a cum laude graduate of Bridgewater College, and is employed by Salem City Schools as a Second Grade Teacher at East Salem Elementary.

The groom is the son of Joy Drone and Michael Smiroldo of the Washington, D.C. area. He is a graduate of Bridgewater College, and is employed by Roanoke Stamp and Seal as a Typesetter.

The newlyweds will live in Daleville, after their wedding trip to Snowshoe Ski Resort.

\ Turner-Montgomery

Leslie Carol Montgomery and William Jack Turner, Jr. were married December 17, 1994 in Rocky Mount Baptist Church. The officiating clergyman was Dr. Joe Bryant. The reception was held at The Elks Lodge, Roanoke.

The junior maid of honor was Brooke Montgomery of Rocky Mount, sister of the bride. The maid of honor was Christy Hodges of Rocky Mount, friend of the bride. The bridesmaids were Blair Chambers of Smith Mountain Lake, Jenny Shreves of Rocky Mount, Tammy Bernard of Glace Hill, all friends of the bride; Kelly Montgomery of Rocky Mount, cousin of the bride; Dana Montgomery of Hardy, sister-in-law of the bride; and Angela Kerlin of Virginia Beach, friend of the bride. Flowergirl was Alesia Shelton of Rocky Mount.

Best man was Tommy Turner of Killeen, Texas, brother of the groom. The ushers were Perry Reese of Pulaski, cousin of the groom; Dana Hill of Buchanan, and Mark Harrison of Roanoke, both friends of the groom; Ryan Montgomery of Rocky Mount, and Tony Montgomery of Hardy, both brothers of the bride; Rory Benson of Troutville, Grayson Thockmorton of Halifax, and David Kibler of Roanoke, all friends of the groom. The guestbook was attended by Carrie Hodges of Rocky Mount.

The bride is the daughter of James and Carolyn Montgomery of Rocky Mount. She is a graduate of Franklin County High School and Radford University. She is employed by McDade Travel in Roanoke.

The groom is the son of Mrs. Lillie Cook of Pilot Mountain, North Carolina, and the late William Jack Turner, Sr. of Dublin. He is a graduate of Pulaski High School and Ferrum College. He is a teacher at Franklin County High School.

The newlyweds will live in Rocky Mount, after their wedding trip to the Homestead, Hot Springs, Va.

\ VanDyne-Witten

Susan Joanne Witten and Donald Lee VanDyne were united in marriage on Saturday, December 17 at the Fort Chiswell Church of Christ. Timothy Forlines and Glann Lee officiated.

Maid of honor was Jill Atkins of Pulaski. Glenn Skinner of Romney, served as best man.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Witten of Bland, the bride is a graduate of Virginia Tech and is employed by Wythe County Schools.

The groom, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Larry VanDyne of Lebanon Church, is a graduate of Triplett Vocational and Technical School and is employed by the Pulaski Health Care Center.

The couple will reside in Wyth e County

Angel Marie Martin and Don Thomas Wheeler, Jr. were married September 17, 1994, in Southview United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Pearson officiating. The matron of honor was Donna Bennett, friend. The bridesmaids were Misty Martin and Lisa Martin, sisters of the bride. The best man was Max Bennett, friend. The ushers were Timothy Wheeler, brother of the groom; Bryon Spradlin, cousin; Jeff Jones, friend. The bride is the daughter of Lola A. and Oscar D. Martin of Salem. The groom is the son of Elizabeth S. and Don T. Wheeler, Sr., of Roanoke. The newlyweds will live in Roanoke County.
