SOCCER PLAYERS ON STATE TEAMS

Seven Roanoke Youth Soccer Club players were named to Virginia's Olympic Development teams for their respective age groups Sunday after tryouts in Richmond.

Paul Wallace was picked for the boys' 1980 (birth year) team, Don Haga and Wade Forte were chosen for the boys' 1979 roster, Jorge Rivera was selected for the 1978 squad and Tait Duus and John Prillaman were chosen for the 1977 team. Carrie Moore was named to the girls' 17-and-under roster.

All seven players will be invited to regional team tryouts during June or July in New Jersey.
