BEENE, Teressa Beeton 42, of Ashburn, died Tuesday, December 20, 1994, in Reston, Virginia. She was born on October 12, 1952, in Fort Worth, Texas, a daughter of William Arthur Beeton and Virginia Mabry Beeton, of Lexington. Mrs. Beene was a member of Leesburg Presbyterian Church in Leesburg and formerly a member of Lexington Presbyterian Church. She attended Dabney Lancaster Community College and Virginia Western Community College where she received her nursing degree. Mrs. Beene was a registered nurse with Health Management Strategies in Alexandria. In addition to her parents, survivors include a daughter, Chandra An n Beene, Ashburn; two brothers, William Arthur Beeton Jr., Markham and Timothy A. Beeton, Galveston, Texas; two sisters, Barbara Lee Beeton Shrack, Delano, Minn. and Susan Kathy Beeton Herring, Zionsville, Ind. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, December 23, 1994, in Lexington Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Richard M. Webster and the Rev. Lee Zehmer officiating. BROWN, James Robert, 68, of Roanoke, passed away Monday, December 19, 1994. BURGER, Frances Burks, 80, of Natural Bridge, died Tuesday, December 20, 1994, in the Augusta Medical Cente r. Mrs. Burger was born December 31, 1913 in Keystone, W.Va. a daughter of the late Frank Wellington Burks and Sallie Wheat Burks. Mrs. Burger taught school for 30 years before retiring in 1984 from the Rockbridge County School System. In 1986 she opened Burgers Country Inn in her home at Natural Bridge. She was a member of the Natural Bridge Baptist Church, The Rockbridge, Va. and National Education Associations, Delta Kappa Gamma-Beta Epsilon Chapter, The Glasgow Garden Club, The A.A.R.P. and Association for the Preservation of Virginia Antiquities. She was also a member of the Bed and Breakfast Association of Virginia and The Professional Association of Innkeepers. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Robert Edward Dennis and George Leftwich Burger. Surviving are a son, John Wellington Burger, Natural Bridge; a daughter, Sally Katherine Burger, Staunton; three sister, Hallie B. Albergotti, Roanoke, Mary B. Dean, Bedford, Doris B. Stanley, Bedford; two brothers, Reed S. Burks, Chester Heights, Pa., Frank W. GRAHAM, Albert James, Jr. of Roanoke, died Wednesday, December 21, 1994. He was a graduate of VPI and a B29 Bomber Pilot in the Pacific Theater of Operations in World War II. He was retired from Norfolk Southern Railway. Surviving are his wife, Olivia Gillespie Graham; two sons and daughters-in-law, Albert J. JONES, Philip Robert, 60, of Blacksburg, died suddenly Tuesday, December 20, 1994, at Montgomery Regional Hospital. He was born April 27, 1934, in Omaha, Nebraska, to the late John Preston and Vivian Claire Lyle Jones. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. Dr. Jones was a noted expert in the field of education since 1977. He was a chairperson and commissioner of the U. S. House of Representatives Commission on the Financing of Free and Appro priate Education for special needs children. KIME, Warren Penn Jr. 75, of Salem, died Tuesday, December 20, 1994 at his residence. Mr. Kime was born October 23, 1919, at Gray Court, S.C., and was the son of the late Warren Penn Kime and Leah Riddle Kime. He was a life-long member of College Lutheran Church, Salem and had attended Roanoke College before entering the U.S. Navy in 1941 to 1946, after which he was a writer in the Advertising and Public Relations Department of American Oil Company, Baltimore, Md. He then joined the staff of the Norfolk and Western Railway Magazine of Roanoke as an editor. From there he went to Fort Eustis Transportation School as editor and writer. He spent a number of years on the Florida Gulf Coast, publishing both fiction and poetry, and is listed in ``Writers of Virginia''. Mr. Kime was also a recognized artist, having numerous oil paintings in museums, art galleries, private collections and public institutions in all 50 states and several foreign countries. Mr. Kime was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution; Sons of Confederate Veterans, Fincastle Rifles Camp #1326; a charter member of the Hupp-Deyerle Camp; the Military Order of Stars and Bars, American Legion Post #3, and an Honorary member of Southern Cross Chapter #746 United Daughters of the Confederacy. He was awarded the U.S.C. Cross of Military Service and the S.C.V. Cross of Military Service. Survivors include his wife, Doris Huff Kime; a stepson, Noah B. Butt IV; a sister, Barbara K. West; an uncle, Philip H. Kime, Richmond; three nieces; and a number of cousins. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 23, at 11 a.m. at the College Lutheran Church with the Pastors Dwayne Westermann and Ro bert Ward officiating. LEMEN, Janice, 78, of Laguna Hills, Calif., former professor of art at Longwood College, died Friday, December 16, 1994, in a nursing home. The cause of death was complications following a stroke. A native of Missouri, Mrs. Lemen was a full-time member of the Art Department at Longwood for 25 years and was a full professor from 1973-78. Prior to that, she was an art supervisor at the Longwood Campus School and a consultant part-time with the Virginia Department of Education. Mrs. Lemen had more than 25 one man shows and participated in more than 60 group exhibitions. Her paintings and prints are included in both public and private art collections throughout Virginia. She was active in many professional art organizations and served on several committe es both at Longwood and in the art community in general. She started the Virginia Artists Collection that is a permanent collection of works by artists from Virginia which is at the Center for the Visual Arts in Farmville. Mr. Walton was a former shipping clerk with the American Viscose Corp. Surviving are his wife, Bera H. Walton; daughter and son-in-law, Cathie W. and Charles E. Bird, Pulaski; son and daughter-in-law, Michael J. and Ginger B. Walton, Troutville; grandchildren, Phillip Bird, Melissa Smith, Jamie Smith, Joshua Walton, Matthew Walton. For those prefering to make memorial contributions, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Building Fund at New Hope Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Friday at Oakey's North Chapel by the Rev. Keith Johnson. Interment will follow in Fair View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Oakey's North Chapel.
