Limited recalls fleece garments The Limited, Columbus, Ohio-based women's apparel retailer, on Thursday began a voluntary recall of 90,000 cotton tops, pants and shorts that feature a "brushed side out" or "reverse fleece" cotton surface. They were sold in the company's Limited and Express stores,

The company notified the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission that the items, made by independent suppliers, may not meet federal flammability standards. Limited said it has removed the merchandise from its store shelves and will offer refunds to consumers who return them.

U.S. stock and financial markets will be closed Monday for the Christmas holiday. The weekly auction of Treasury bills will be postponed until Tuesday. The Roanoke Times & World-News will not publish financial tables Tuesday but will resume the report in Wednesday's editions.

Columbia/HCA Healthcare Corp., Louisville, Ky., parent of Lewis-Gale Hospital in Salem, said Thursday its directors have authorized repurchase of up to 1 million shares of Columbia's common stock The purchases are to be made from time to time in the open market at prevailing market prices. The shares then will be available by the company's stock benefit plans and will minimize dilution to existing shareholders.

Angler's Cafe, a restaurant serving breakfast entrees, sandwiches and soups, has opened at 310 Second St. at Kirk Avenue in downtown Roanoke. Steven and Mary Stuart Van Meter, formerly with Wildflour Cafe and Buck Mountain Grill, operate the new restaurant.

Gold & Gift Shoppe, selling gold and silver jewelry, watches, silk scarves and ties and fragrances, has opened at 31 Campbell Ave., in the Campbell Court building, downtown Roanoke. Shama Aneja operates the business.
