LINDA R. MCMILLAN of Troutville recently was named branch manager of the Bank of Buchanan's temporary Troutville office. She has been with the bank since 1990 and works in the Daleville office.

BROWN, EDWARDS and CO. L.L.P. has become a member of Associated Accounting Firms International, a group of 30 Certified Public Accountant firms in the United States. Brown, Edwards and Co. passed the membership admission criteria established by the AAFI Board of Directors.

DALE WILLIAMS of G.W. Williams and Co. Inc., was selected to attend American United Life Insurance Co.'s Success School in Atlanta. Williams was selected to attend the advanced-sales seminar "because he has demonstrated superior production and service to clients," according to AUL's advance sales director.

JACK HARTEIS has been named Chef of the Year for the American Culinary Foundation, Southwestern Virginia Chapter. Harteis has been a member of the chapter for seven years, and is the executive chef for Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke.

ALVIN F. WOODS of Alars Inc. in Vinton, was elected president of the District III Roanoke Valley Independent Automobile Dealers Association. The association provides information and legislative representation to independent dealers.

SHELVA S. PAINTER, general registrar in the city of Roanoke, has been awarded the title Certified Professional General Registrar. Painter received accreditation through a program administered by the University of Virginia's Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service and the Division of Continuing Education. The program takes a minimum of three years to complete and requires a combination of extensive education and governmental experience.

DAVE ROBERTSON of ACS Satellite Systems of Roanoke won a trip as a guest of ESPN to the Atlanta Falcons vs. New Orleans Saints game in Atlanta. Robertson won the trip because of his high volume of satellite sales.

COLDWELL BANKER VALLEY VIEW REALTORS recently celebrated its fifth anniversary. The company, located on Peters Creek Road, now has 10 working agents.

JOHN H. SCOTT, former director of National Business College campus in Danville, has been named institution compliance officer and senior financial planning director for the college in Roanoke. Scott will serve as liaison between federal and state administrative agencies, and monitor compliance with regulations pertaining to financial aid administration.

CENTRAL FIDELITY NATIONAL BANK INC. has announced the following promotions: Clyde Clark, commercial loan officer in the Corporate Banking Division, Roanoke; Brenda Coffman, branch manager, Buchanan office; and Teresa McBride, credit specialist in the Corporate Banking Division, Roanoke.
