BLACKSBURG - The YMCA Thrift Shop will hold a half- price sale on clothing for men, women and children Jan. 4.
All clothing is included except for costume room items.
The shop, located at 1531 S. Main St., is open from 10 a.m. to 4:50 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
Supervisors seek board applicants
CHRISTIANSBURG - The Montgomery County Board of Supervisors seeks applications for appointments to four boards and commissions.
The Office on Youth Advisory Board provides information to county government and other agencies. The board meets every third Monday at 7 p.m. The appointments will fill two unexpired terms through June 30, 1995, and June 30, 1996.
The Comprehensive Services Act for At Risk Youth and Family Community Policy and Management Team seeks a parent representative to fill a two-year term. Applicants may not be an employee of any public or private program serving children and families.
The Parks and Recreation Commission advises the Montgomery County Parks and Recreation Department in developing activities and programs. The appointment will be made for District C, which includes Shawsville, Elliston, Lafayette and Alleghany Springs. The commission meets the first Thursday of the month at 7 p.m.
The Industrial Development Authority reviews and approves applications for, and issues regarding, industrial revenue bonds. Authority members meet every third Tuesday at 11:30 a.m.
Applicants to all positions must be registered voters in good tax standing. To be considered for the posts, submit a letter of intent by Jan. 4 to Betty Thomas, County Administrator, P.O. Box 806, Christiansburg 24073.
