SIZE DOESN'T LIMIT LOVE FOR NEIGHBOR

The size of the Roanoke Monthly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends does not prevent the group from helping their community.

According to Clerk of the Meeting Genevieve Waring, because the organization has only about 20 members, it can't always undertake large projects of its own. Instead, it tries to help out with joint ventures like the Good Neighbors Fund.

The society - known by some as Quakers - believes it can best use its resources by adding to the work of others.

"It can really be of use that way," Waring said.

"We especially wanted to do something that is locally used," Waring added.
