``We're looking for someplace to hang our hats,'' Claudia Peters said Wednesday. ``Virginia is still our first choice for the project.''
Virginia Department of Economic Development spokesman Morgan Stewart said Disney still is talking seriously with the department.
``We're still convinced they want to stay in Virginia,'' Stewart said. ``We trust them when they say that. They've been very open with us.''
Stewart said his department, at the company's request, has not forwarded to Disney the dozens of site proposals submitted by localities from around the state.
``We're in a new phase: refocusing before we go into the site selection,'' Peters said.
Disney officials said they abandoned the Prince William site because of public opposition to the park.
