CAVE SPRING GIRLS MAKE FINAL IN N.C. TOURNAMENT

Aimee Beightol scored a game-high 16 points and had nine assists, and the Knights' defense did not allow a double-figure scorer for the second consecutive night as Cave Spring's girls cruised past East Guilford 69-30 on Wednesday night in a semifinal of the Northwest Guilford Christmas Tournament.

The Knights will meet the winner of Wednesday night's Northwest Guilford-Southwest Guilford game tonight for the championship.

Cave Spring (5-2) was outrebounded 16-12 in the first half, but its half-court trap forced numerous turnovers in the second half, when the Knights held a 25-10 advantage over East Guilford (1-5).
