FLOYD COUNTY WINS TITLE

FLOYD - Brian Harman scored 18 of his 22 points in the second half as Floyd County overcame a 23-point first half deficit to beat Auburn 77-73 on Wednesday night for the championship of the Xpress Market Invitational.

Harman, who made 14 of 16 free throws during the game, hit 10 of 11 in the second half. Jason Dalton scored 12 points, grabbed eight rebounds and had eight steals - all in the second half as the Buffaloes (5-1) outscored Auburn 49-26.

Ben Kiser had 16 points and six steals for Floyd County.

The Buffaloes overcame a career-high 35 points from tournament MVP Jon Reed.

Grayson County 73

Christiansburg 63

MARION - Chad Shaffner and Wes Self scored 17 points each to help the Blue Devils pick up their second overtime victory in two days, a decision over the Blue Devils in a semifinal of the Marion Holiday Classic.

Grayson County (6-1) will play the winner of Wednesday night's George Wythe-Abingdon game tonight for the championship. Christiansburg (6-2) will play the loser.

FAIRFAX - Missy Wycinski scored eight of her nine points in the fourth quarter to help Gar-Field (8-0) pull away from the Cougars (6-1) in a semifinal of the Book Jammin' Christmas Tournament.

Gar-Field will play C.D. Hylton in the championship game today and Pulaski County will meet Bishop O'Connell for third place.

The Cougars got 17 points from Jodie Hallett and 13 from Kim Cruise.
