Columbia/HCA Healthcare Corp., Louisville, Ky., parent of Lewis-Gale Hospital in Salem, said Thursday it has agreed to lease Murray Medical Center in Chatsworth, Ga., a 42-bed acute care hospital. Terms call for Columbia/HCA to lease the hospital for 71/2 years with an option to buy it after three years.

The Coastal Corp., Houston parent of ANR Coal Co. and Coastal Coal Sales Co. of Roanoke, said Thursday its China subsidiary, Coastal China Ltd., has signed a contract with Maxus China (C.I.) Ltd. granting Coastal China a 40 percent interest in oil exploration and development rights to 895,000 acres in the East China Sea.

Morrison Restaurants Inc., Mobile, Ala., operator of cafeterias and family restaurants, reported net income of $12.1 million, or 34 cents per share, on sales of $252.5 million for its second quarter ended Dec. 3, compared with year-earlier $12 million, or 32 cents, on sales of $310.4 million. For six months, net income was $36.6 million, or $1.01 per share, on sales of $493.8 million, compared with year-earlier $20.1 million, or 54 cents, on sales of $592.5 million.
