AUDITIONS OPEN FOR SHOWTIMERS MUSICAL

Showtimers, Virginia's oldest community theater, will conduct auditions Tuesday-Wednesday for their production ``Little Mary Sunshine,'' a musical comedy.

Auditions will be held at 7 p.m. at their theater on McVitty Road, off Virginia 419, across from Allstate Insurance.

The musical, a send-up of the old Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy operettas, requires a large cast of strong singers. Performers are needed in all age ranges, particularly high school and college age singers. There are also nonsinging parts for men.

Performances are scheduled for the weekends of April 21 and 28, and May 5. Rehearsals will begin in early March.
