DUBLIN'S AREA DOUBLES SUNDAY

The geographical area of Dublin will nearly double Sunday when a voluntary boundary accord with Pulaski County becomes official.

Circuit Judge Colin Gibb issued an order Thursday approving the boundary adjustment agreed to by Dublin Town Council and the county Board of Supervisors in joint session Dec. 19.

Gibb made the adjustment official at the start of 1995.

The additional territory includes 271 acres and 485,000 square feet of industrial building space in the Dublin Industrial Park, which is already owned by the town but was not within the corporate limits.

It also includes some other commercial property between the town and industrial park, but no residential property so the town's population will not change.

The industrial park was formed when the town acquired part of the former Burlington Industries property in June 1993.

Burlington donated most of its remaining property to the town this year.

The facilities currently provide shipping and receiving services to a number of companies, as well as warehousing services and production uses which includes suppliers to Volvo-GM Heavy Truck Corp.
