ANSWERS

1. The telemovie and the series shared some of the same actors. LeVar Burton (``Next Gen''), Avery Brooks (``DS9'') and Kate Mulgrew (``Voyager'') starred in ``The Gift,'' a holiday-themed special that featured several characters from the miniseries ``Roots.'' (Thanks to Justin Mann of Chicago for this question.)

2. Koenig asked Khambatta's permission to kiss her bald pate, a request the actress happily granted.

3. Majel Barrett-Roddenberry has appeared in the three TV series to date, several films and the animated ``Trek'' series. She will also be providing the voice of the computer on the new series, ``Voyager.''

4. ``Qapla''' is the Klingon word for ``success.''

5. She is actress Julie Warner. (Thanks to Bill Conran of Kalamazoo, Mich.)

6. ``I Hate You'' is the title of the song played obnoxiously loud on a boom box by a punk during the bus sequence. ``Trek IV'' associate producer Kirk Thatcher wrote and performed the song and played the punk, who was silenced by Spock's (Leonard Nimoy) nerve pinch.

7. Gettle are wild herd animals found on Cardassia.

8. DiFalco was portrayed by actress Marcy Lafferty, who, at the time, was the wife of William Shatner. (Thanks to Cindy Simon of Charlotte, N.C.)

9. He gave her the joke gift of a book, ``How to Advance Your Career Through Marriage.''

10. The episode was ``Civil Defense,'' written by Mike Krohn and directed by Reza Badiyi.

11. Scotty was 72 when he officially retired in 2294.

12. Michael Dorn, as a reluctant Worf, played Scarlett in the ``Robin Hood''-themed episode.
