RADVA MAKES MARKETING DEAL WITH CALIF. COMPANY

Radva Corp. said Tuesday it has agreed to let California-based ActionAmerica market the licenses for making its Thermastructure Ltd. building panels.

The panels, which are made of steel-reinforced polyestrene, substitute for traditional wood frame construction. Radva patented the panels in 1976, and their success in the marketplace prompted the company to expand last year, hiring 25 employees.

The Radva unit sells licenses to other companies to make the panels, and Radva supplies the machinery necessary for production, said William Cadden, Radva's director of finance. Plants in Russia, Australia, Guam, Colorado and elsewhere make the product.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Cadden said ActionAmerica would have responsibilities for marketing Thermastructure products worldwide, with the exception of Russia.
