HOT HOGGATT SCORES 53

Staunton River's Hunter Hoggatt had a night to remember Tuesday. Buckingham County would prefer to forget.

Hoggatt, a sophomore guard, scored a school-record 53 points to lead the Golden Eagles to a 97-66 victory over Buckingham in Seminole District boys' basketball. Hoggatt made 10 3-pointers and was 19-for-21 from the free-throw line.

Forward Cornelius Foxx added 29 points for the Golden Eagles (5-3, 5-3). Buckingham's record fell to 0-8, 0-8.

(Box score on B2.)
