BLACKSBURG - Auditions for the next Playmakers and Company production, "The Foreigner," are Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 16 and 17, 7 p.m., at the Playmakers' Playhouse, University Mall.

These will be "cold readings," and scripts are provided. The production has roles for four men, two women and one male teenager, 13-18 years old.

The comedy opens in March.

Tree pickup

BLACKSBURG - The town will pick up cut Christmas trees and holiday greenery through Friday, Jan. 13, for recycling into mulch.

Trees and greenery should be free of decorations and wires and may be left at the curb.
