CHRISTIANSBURG - The Montgomery County Parks and Recreation Commission will not meet in January.

Rainbow Games

CHRISTIANSBURG - The 1995 Rainbow Games are recruiting athletes for the annual competition, Saturday and Sunday, March 18 and 19, in Richmond. Youth ages 7 to 21 with physical or visual disabilities and normal intelligence are eligible to take part. Competition includes track and field and swimming events at various levels.

Car show in March

ROANOKE - The Roanoke Valley Charity Car Show Committee is accepting entries for the 15th annual Muscular Dystrophy Association Car Show March 3-5 at the Roanoke Civic Center.

Custom cars, street rods, racers, antiques and classics, as well as pro-streets, motorcycles, pick-ups, muscle cars, four-wheel drives, vans and off-road vehicles are eligible.

There is no entry fee. Commercial booth space also is available.

Electronic village

BLACKSBURG - Registration for free Blacksburg Electronic Village demonstrations and workshops begins Sunday, Jan. 8, 2 p.m., at the Blacksburg Branch Library, 400 Draper Road. Registration continues until all spaces are filled.

Blacksburg Electronic Village demonstrations are set for Wednesday, Jan. 11, and Wednesday, Jan. 25, 7-8:30 p.m., at the Blacksburg Branch Library.

Mosaic workshops for those age 16 and older are offered on the following schedule:

Friday, Jan. 13, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Sunday, Jan. 15, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Friday, Jan. 20, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Saturday, Jan. 21, 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Sunday, Jan. 22, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Friday, Jan. 27, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Saturday, Jan. 28, 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Sunday, Jan. 29, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Those signing up for Mosaic workshops must know how to use a mouse. All participants must register in person at the Blacksburg Branch Library. Enrollments are limited.
