Rep. Bob Goodlatte hails from Roanoke. Because of a reporter's error, a story in Thursday's newspaper incorrectly placed the Republican's residence in Roanoke County. The story also may have left the incorrect impression that Goodlatte is most proud of his contribution to a bipartisan bill commemorating Thomas Jefferson. Goodlatte on Thursday cited his work to set aside an Amherst County recreation area and to route Interstate 73 through Roanoke as more weighty accomplishments.
