DOCTOR'S IN ON WFNR

Radio psychologist DR. JOY BROWNE entertains and informs listeners in the New River Valley weekdays, 10 a.m. to noon, on Super 710, WFNR (710 AM). Browne, an author and parent, fields calls from across the country from those seeking advice and counsel for personal, family and relationship problems. If WFNR (710 AM) sounds a bit louder and clearer these days, it's probably because the station recently installed a refurbished 10-kilowatt transmitter at its studio-antenna site just off Interstate 81 in Christiansburg, reports station manager Bob Travis. The daylight-only news-talk station stays on until 5:30 p.m. during January.
