SCHOOL BUDGET FIGURE RISES

A midyear salary increase for all full-time school budget that's higher than the original proposal.

Superintendent Herman Bartlett originally introduced a $48.8 million budget, at a 7.7 percent increase over this year's budget. With the midyear raises, which were approved at Tuesday's School Board meeting, the budget is now $49.3 million, at an 8.7 percent increase.
