SAILORS CHARGED WITH TORCHING TELLER MACHINE

The arson investigation that led to the arrest of John C. Salvi III has resulted in unrelated charges against two Navy men.

Police say Adrian Contreras, 22, of Houston and Anthony Catanzaro, 22, of Las Vegas were responsible for a Christmas Day fire at an automatic teller machine that is within sight of the Hillcrest Clinic, Norfolk's only abortion clinic. The clinic is where Salvi, an anti-abortionist, allegedly fired a stream of shots Dec. 31.

Norfolk police spokesman Larry Hill said the events were unrelated. He said Contreras and Catanzaro apparently set the fire after becoming angered while trying to complete a transaction.
