The Cavaliers trailed by five after the first quarter when Williams scored nine of their 11 points. But Lord Botetourt rallied in the second to take a 30-26 halftime lead.
Glenvar made five 3-pointers in the final period but couldn't stop Williams, who had 12 in the fourth to ice the win for Lord Botetourt (7-2).
Jonathan Neal scored 16 points and had five assists for Lord Botetourt. Chad Beck added 11.
James Williams scored 23 points for the Highlanders (6-2). Nick Varney had 13 points, and Corey Willis added 12.

LYNCHBURG - First Andre Kendrick pummeled Patrick Henry in football, and now he's doing it in basketball.
The Hilltoppers' point guard, who quarterbacked Glass to a football victory over the Patriots last season, scored 14 points as the Hilltoppers downed the Patriots in a non-district game.
Chris Combs led the Patriots (3-7) with 13 points.
The Hilltoppers outscored the Patriots in every quarter, and PH reached double figures only in the fourth period.

Carlisle led the entire way in the Virginia Independent Conference victory over Roanoke Catholic.
Joseph McClinton buried a pair of 3-pointers and scored 20 points to pace Carlisle.
Tony Joyce had a game-high 29 for Catholic (1-9, 0-3). Rod Tasco added 15 and Brendan McCarthy 13 for the Celtics.

NEW CASTLE - The Knights used a 23-point second quarter to take a 35-26 lead into the locker room and held on for a Pioneer District victory behind Curtis Nolan's game-high 19 points.
Nolan led the Knights (3-6, 1-2) in scoring and connected on two 3-point attempts. Jason Peery added 15 and Chris Firebaugh tossed in 11 in the James River victory. Nolan and Firebaugh each scored seven points in the Knights' big second quarter.
The big story of the night, however, was Shahan Burrell's 11 offensive rebounds for James River. Burell finished the game with 15 boards and 13 points.
The Rockets (2-4, 1-1) made a run in the third, outscoring James River 19-17. Robby Huffman led the Craig County charge with six points. Huffman finished with 18, including four 3-pointers.
Jamie Fisher added 13 points for the Rockets and Chris Blankenship had 12 points to complement his nine rebounds.

MONETA - Patrick Muncher scored 28 points and the Bees came from behind in the fourth quarter for a Seminole District victory.
Brookville (7-2, 7-2) got 26 points in the final eight minutes, which was enough to overcome scoring balance by Staunton River (4-5, 4-5). The Golden Eagles were led by Cornelius Foxx's 19 points and Hunter Hoggatt's 17.

Pulaski County (10-1, 5-0) led 33-14 by halftime.
Fleming (6-2, 0-2) was paced by Kelly Irving's 14 points. Felicia Manns added 13.

LYNCHBURG - Timberlake Christian outscored the Raiders 23-5 in the third quarter to break a halftime tie and grab a Blue Ridge Conference victory.
Julie Farriss had 20 points and Noemi Velez 16 to lead Timberlake (2-3, 1-3). Emily Cook paced North Cross (2-6, 1-3) with 17 points.

ROCKY MOUNT - Patty Campbell's 18 points helped the Eagles keep the Patriots winless.
Franklin County (6-3, 2-3) led 17-6 after one quarter and coasted to the Roanoke Valley District victory. Natalie Giles added 13 points and 10 rebounds, and Betty Smith had 11 points and 12 rebounds for the Eagles.
Erin Rutherford led PH (0-10, 0-5) with 11 points.

Abby Dickson scored 16 points, and the Celtics held the Gaels to seven second-half points in their Blue Ridge Conference victory.

Lynchburg Christian 51, Roanoke Valley Christian 29: Shannon Carroll hit 18 points and Mandy Britt added 16 as Lynchburg Christian (5-3) stopped Roanoke Valley Christian in a non-district girls' game.
