Nutrition study at Tech
BLACKSBURG - Virginia Tech's Department of Human Nutrition and Foods needs participants for a nutrition study. The department's study will compare two popular diets - the Food Guide Pyramid vs. the Mediterranean Diet Pyramid. The Food Guide diet includes beef, while the Mediterranean diet excludes it.
Participants must be healthy, non-smoking females between the ages of 25 and 45. Participants will be paid and will receive regular cholesterol screenings.
The study begins mid-January and will continue through June.

Clinic needs patient screeners
CHRISTIANSBURG - The Free Clinic of the New River Valley needs volunteers to screen patients for medical and dental eligibility. The Clinic will hold a training session for new screeners Sunday, Jan. 22, 2-6 p.m., at its office, 106-B South Franklin Street.
