HOLIDAY CLOSINGS

The Blacksburg Municipal Building, Blacksburg Transit and Community Center administrative offices will be closed Monday in observance of Lee-Jackson-King Day.

Blacksburg Transit buses, Bob's Refuse and Recycling collection, and the town golf course and aquatic center will operate on regular schedules.

The Community Center will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. The Kipps gymnasium will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Helping Hands sale

CHRISTIANSBURG - Helping Hands Inc. will have a sale Monday in honor of Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday. The nonprofit store sells furniture, clothing, shoes and other items to raise funds for local organizations such as the Crisis Pregnancy Center of the New River Valley and the Women's Resource Center.

The store, at 10 First St. in Christiansburg, will offer a 10 percent discount on purchases Monday. For more information, call Youlanda Jimenez at 381-2771.
