AVALANCHE ADDS STAFF MEMBERS

The Salem Avalanche has added three members to its management team, the Carolina League baseball club announced Wednesday.

Deron Marchant comes to the team as director of group sales after two years with Oklahoma City of the Class AAA American Association.

Lara Steward joins the Avalanche as community relations director after coordinating volunteers for the Senior PGA Tour stop in Mason, Ohio, in 1993 and 1994.

Mike Holdren will serve as ticket operations manager after spending two seasons with the Carolina League's Wilmington Blue Rocks. In another front office move, Anthony Marek has left Salem to work for the Carolina League's Lynchburg Hillcats.

The Budweiser Stampede Championship Rodeo comes to the Salem Civic Center this weekend. Show times are 8 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $8.50 for the Friday session and $9.50 and 12.50 for the Saturday and Sunday shows, with children's and senior citizens' tickets discounted $3 at the afternoon sessions.
