IN SCHOOL

ALLISON COOKE, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Cooke of Salem, has been named to the dean's list of Freed-Hardeman in Henderson, Tenn., for the 1994 fall semester. Cooke is a freshman English major.

JIMMY J. ARTHUR JR., son of Jimmy and Nora Arthur of Hollins, has been named to the dean's list at Emmanuel College in Franklin Springs, Ga., for the fall semester of the 1994-95 academic year. Arthur is a 1992 graduate of Northside High School.

TIFFANY P. HOBACK, of Roanoke, was among the students named to the 1994 fall semester honor roll at Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield, Mo.

WILLIAM BYRD HIGH SCHOOL, has announced its place in the Reflections Contest winners. They are for literature: Gretchen Dress, first place; Omeed Dariani, second; and Amanda Pickering, third place. For visual arts: Keith Harrison, first; David Crossley, second; Pranoti Mody, third; and Catherine Taylor, honorable mention.
