The Blue Demons (11-2 overall, 1-0 New River) flattened the Cavaliers (4-7, 0-1) with their press in the first half and led 40-19 at intermission. Christiansburg pushed the lead to 65-33 through three quarters.
Darrell Calloway scored 15 points for the Blue Demons, who connected on nine 3-pointers. John Hairston scored 13 points and made three 3-pointers, and Carlton Ashbrook scored 12 points.
Matt Larrowe led Carroll County with 18 points.

PEARISBURG - D.J. Jones sank one of two free throws with 17 seconds left as the Bobcats edged the Spartans in a Three Rivers District matchup.
Jones was 4-for-5 from the field and scored 15 points in the first half, yet Giles (3-5, 0-1) led 28-27 at halftime. Coley Thomas scored all of his 12 points in the second half for the Spartans to keep the game close.
Radford (5-4, 1-1) led 60-58 when Jones was fouled late in the fourth quarter. After Jones missed his second free throw, Anthony Myers took two shots for Giles, but missed both.
Josh Stephens scored 19 points to lead Giles.

DUBLIN - The Cougars (8-1) had four scorers in double figures as they prevailed in a non-district matchup with the Hilltoppers (3-6).
Pulaski County used a big third quarter to seal the game, going up 50-40 at the end of the period. Eric Webb led the charge, scoring eight of his points in the third. Jamar McNair chipped in seven in the quarter.
Webb led the Cougars with a game-high 18 points and 13 rebounds. Tyrone Hash scored 16 points and McNair finished with 12 points and five steals. Matt Burns tossed in 10 points for Pulaski County.
Eron Murphy led E.C. Glass, which was playing with out coach Mike Dufrene, with 14 points. Bryan Jones and George Bunch scored 12 points each and Andre Kendrick added 11. Jones grabbed 10 rebounds and Kendrick had four steals.

BLACKSBURG - Aaron Meadows scored a game-high 21 points to lead the Crusaders past the visitors from North Carolina in a non-conference game.
Jay Perfater added 17 points, including 12 in the first half to go with eight first-half steals as Gateway (6-4) took a 38-16 lead. Ryan Gordon added 13 points for the Crusaders.
Calvary was led by Clayton Maynard, who scored 10 points.

INDEPENDENCE - Brian Boyer's double-double helped the Blue Devils ground the Rockets in the Mountain Empire District opener for both teams.
Boyer had 15 points to go with 17 rebounds for Grayson County (8-2, 1-0). He added four blocked shots. Chad Shaffner scored 18 points and Wes Self 17 for the Devils, who led by as many as 13 in the second half and allowed Bland (3-4, 0-1) to get no closer than 11.
The Rockets were paced by Shannon Havens, with 14 points.

NARROWS - Scott Vaught led four Green Wave scorers in double figures, and Narrows shook off a slow start to douse the Maroon Tide in the Mountain Empire District opener for both teams.
The Green Wave (6-3) trailed 15-13 after one quarter, but jumped on Galax (6-3) in the second quarter 23-9 and cruised the rest of the way.
Patrick Bailey scored 14 points and Nolan Perkins added 13 points and 11 rebounds. Bryan Pruett also had 10 points and 10 rebounds, while Vaught grabbed 13 rebounds.
The Maroon Tide was paced by Jeff Ross, with 16 points.

NEW CASTLE - The Rockets outscored the Shawnees 24-3 in the second period en route to a 20-point victory over the Shawnees in non-district action.
Robby Huffman led Craig County's charge in the second period with 11 points, including three 3-pointers, and Jamie Fisher contributed with nine in the quarter.
Fisher led the Rockets with a game-high 20 points and Huffman finished with 19 points. Huffman also contributed 10 rebounds, including six offensive boards, for the Rockets (3-4).
Tony Walker led Shawsville (1-9) with 13 points.

LYNCHBURG - The Cougars (11-1) overcame a sluggish start to earn a non-district victory over the Hilltoppers (5-5).
Carrie McConnell scored 13 points, Jodie Hallett 12 and Kim Cruise 10 for Pulaski County, which led 20-18 at halftime, but outscored E.C. Glass 27-19 in the second half. Hallett added eight rebounds.
