FACKLER LEADS HORNETS PAST GENERALS 62-55

Former Fieldale-Collinsville star Kelly Fackler scored 18 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead Lynchburg past Washington and Lee 62-55 in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference game Saturday.

The Hornets led 39-29 at halftime, but the Generals battled back to within three, 57-54, on Rachel Read's three-point play. Dana Wilkins hit a jumper in the lane and Fackler made two free throws late to give the Hornets the victory.

Gretna's Dawn Gibson had 18 points for Lynchburg (6-6 overall, 4-4 ODAC).

Tonia Dean scored a team-high 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds for the Generals (4-8, 3-7).

Longwood 96

Wofford 95

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Former Glenvar star Nikki Hall sank a 3-point attempt late in overtime to help Longwood slip past Wofford.

Hall hit a layup with five seconds left in regulation to tie the score at 85 and send the game into overtime. Hall made 11 of 21 shots from the field, grabbed 10 rebounds, and dished out seven assists for Longwood.

Cassie Ensley set a Longwood record by connecting on seven 3-pointers to finish with 21 points. Christine Roberts added career-highs of 14 points and 10 assists.

Presley Compton scored 28 points for Wofford (6-6).

The victory improved the Lancers' record to 10-2, their best start in 25 years.

NORFOLK - Crystal Wilson scored a game-high 22 points to pace four players in double figures as the Maroons beat the Marlins in an ODAC game.

Amy Athey, Ashley McCallum, and Lori Boyd added 10 each for Roanoke (8-3, 7-1 ODAC), which shot 54 percent from the field and forced 20 turnovers.

Virginia Wesleyan (7-4, 5-4) was led by Kristin Hopkins with 20 points and Amy Beisch with 19.

Methodist 58

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -Aimee Barker and Glossary Smith scored 17 points each to help the Panthers get past the Monarchs in a Dixie Conference game.

Smith grabbed 16 rebounds as Ferrum (8-3, 2-0) outrebounded Methodist 59-44.

Ferrum shot 36 percent from the field to 27 percent by Methodist. The teams combined for 31 turnovers, including 21 for the Panthers.

Teresa McMillian scored 14 points for Methodist (3-7, 1-1).

EMORY - Jackie Greene had 15 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Wasps to an ODAC victory over the Eagles.

Sallie Lefler and Sarah Bratton each added 15 points for Emory & Henry (6-6, 4-5).

Krista Oyler scored 17 points to pace Bridgewater (6-6, 5-3).
