VMI FALLS SHORT AGAINST

Bobby Prince set a VMI record for assists in a game, but the Keydets couldn't avoid their eighth straight loss, falling 90-77 in overtime to Western Carolina in a Southern Conference game.

Prince, a former Lord Botetourt standout, made and eight-foot jumper with three seconds remaining in regulation to tie the score at 73 and send the game to overtime.

However, Anquell McCollum scored eight points as Western Carolina outscored VMI 17-4 in the extra period. McCollum finished with a career-high 28 points.
