LIMB KNOCKS OUT POWER IN MEADOWBROOK VILLAGE

About 125 customers in the Meadowbrook Village section of North Roanoke were without power for a while Saturday night after a tree limb fell on a primary power line.

Appalachian Power Co. began getting calls about the outage around 5:30 p.m., said Apco spokeswoman Victoria Ratcliff. Power was restored to all residents by 6:50 p.m.

Ratcliff said the falling limb caused a fuse to blow, which is why some people may have heard a popping sound.
